ACHIVADOLIMNI beach in MILOS
Achivadolimni is a very long and very beautiful beach with light beige sand and beautiful blue shallow water. It is ideal for those who like windsurf, however it is usually crowded. It is also called Chivadolimni. Its name refers to the greek word ‘Achivada’ which means clam in Greek, while ‘Limni’ means lake; behind this beach, there is a small lake where you can see thousands of clams or conches living on the floor. It is located at a distance of 11 km from Plaka, (capital of the island) and 7 km away from the port of Adamas on the road to Agia Marina. Near the beach of Achivadolimni, in the area of the airport, you will also see the old salterns of the island.
