Right from the port you will see a peninsula. It is called Nisi (island) anf has a beach with nice trees close to the sea. On this peninsula was formerly the acropolis' or 'upper town'. On the hill stands a small church and it is still remains of walls. Also here is the little theater that down as a shell against the hill is. The theater was built in the 4th century BC and has 18 rows of seats. In 1972 began the excavation, but it is still trying to create new pieces to dig. Since 1995, the theater back into use. On the other side of the peninsula can be found under the surface the 'sunken city', remnants of Epidavros after a volcanic eruption of the volcano of Methana subaquatic disappeared. These remains are still clearly visible.
