ROUSSOUM GIALOS beach in ALONISSOS

This is a very popular shingle beach with very nice clear turquoise waters and white peebles. It is preferred mostly because it is located at the so named tourist resort which is nearby Patitiri (port) and has many tavernas, cafes, hotels etc. The beach itself is nice, but the area is full of people and buildings (not traditional nor picturesque). Therefore we do not recommend it unless someone prefers such kinds of beaches.

It also has a cute tiny harbour.

The settlement of Rousoum Gialos is something like as a suburb of the capital Patitiri. Rousoum in Turkish means the duty, and it seems that via this beach became the exports of goods such as the famous wine of Alonnisos and there were paid the relative duties of import or export.

It is an intermediary between the town of Patitiri and the town of Votsis.
This region happens to have a big tourist growth. The last years have been built a lot of hotels and rented rooms. Too many holidaymakers prefer it as a place to stay because it is not far away from the city.
