AGATHOPES beach in SYROS

A nice beach with golden sand and blue-green shallow waters, protected from the winds. It could have been a marvelous beach because its natural landscape is very beautiful. However the cafes, restaurants, small hotels and the road spoil its beauty. It is usually too crowded. Therefore we rate it with 2.5 stars althouth the landscape and the beach itself could be rated with 4 stars. Still it is one of the best beaches in Syros.

The beach is protected by the Ministry of Environment, while some diving clubs offer nice underwater experiences.

A little islet sits in the water by the coast. The natural beach lilies growing in the sand with blooming white flowers add to the serenity of the bay.

Sun umbrellas and sun beds have been placed on the sand, while taverns by the side offer a relaxing lunch. There are also hotels and apartments lining the bay, if you wish to stay for the night. The nearby coastal area Delagratsia is nice for a walk admiring the classic mansions with lovely gardens and pines.

The sunset should not be missed, while the view of the surrounding islets gives it a magnificent appeal. Here and there naval vessels pass by to the nearby base. To reach the beach
