AGIOS PETROS beach in ALONISSOS
Agios Petros is picturesque smooth beach with sand and fine small pebbles nested in a small cove full of trees. Its water has beautiful emerald-green color and it has natural shade at the afternoon. At its left side there is a tiny dock for small boats. It is located close to the picturesque fishing village and little port of Steni Vala (see separate listing). It does not have an easy access by car, which makes it unspoiled and less crowded. If you go there by car, it is preferable to park your car at Steni Vala and then use the footpath that leads you to the beach (7-10 minutes by feet), as the normal road ends to the various villas in the area and it might be confusing to find the right footpaths to the beach.
The name of the area comes from the homonym temple of Byzantine period that existed in the region, remains which you can see on the hill and maintain in height 0,50-2.50 m. roughly, in dense vegetation.
