LIMNI town, little harbour and beach in NORTH EVIA
Limni is one of the most beautiful towns of Evia, with traditional architectural characteristics, monasteries, historic places, rich tradition, nice beaches all around and wonderful countryside. It is located in a distance of 87 km. from Chalkida, between Chalkida and Aedipsos (see separate listing)....... Limni has a beach but the near by beaches Kohyli, Katounia, Galataki and Ag. Giorgios are more beautiful with peebles and very clean waters (see separate listings).....Limni has also a small harbour with quays.
In the Historical and Popular Art Museum you one may see represented traditional mansion of Limni, collection of historical objects of the revolutionary and postrevolutionary period, portraits of local heroes, manuscripts and others.
The sightseeing of the region is the byzantine monastery of St.Nicholas "Galataki" one of the most ancient in Greece and the most ancient in Euboea. Nearby it is situated the cavernous church of St. Andreas with remarkable sacred paintings of the 16th century.
