The 42-metre Mangusta Oceano is the Overmarine yard's first displacement yacht.
With an established history of building fast Maxi Open yachts, Overmarine’s Mangusta Oceano 42 is a departure for the yard. Designed by Alberto Mancini, the yacht boasts some innovative features, including an infinity pool at the bow with a glass bottom that brings natural light into the main deck owner’s suite. The interior features detailing used from the car industry.
The indoor/outdoor experience is a big part of the on-board environment. Windows throughout are huge (there are sliding ones on the main salon), while the owner’s suite benefits from a balcony overlooking the sea, and the spacious beach club is a great place for guests to pass the day. Outside spaces include a flybridge, featuring a large hardtop that creates a shaded area for alfresco dining. A glass opening built into the deck allowing natural light to enter the deck below is a feature repeated down to the beach club, but it’s that infinity pool that really catches the eye.
Alberto Mancini’s interior is contemporary in style, with planed oak flooring, natural oak bulkheads, and a mix of Alcantara and leather with steel inserts, matched with fabrics and panels of linen, silk and soft nubuck leather with quilt-style stitching. On the lower deck there are four guest cabins – two doubles and two twins. Each cabin is inspired by a Mediterranean holiday resort.
Twin MTU 12V 2000 M72 engines deliver a cruising speed of 11 knots, with a range over 4,000 miles. Her top speed is 15 knots. The yard says that particular attention has been paid to noise and vibration. You can see the yacht at the Monaco Yacht Show, which starts next week, on berth H04.
