There is no preserved local event proper to Andros Greece; the events that take place in Andros are almost the same of the one of other islands or villages of Greece.

During the religious celebration of the name of a saint, a feast is organized in the village where the church is located, with the same name as the celebrated saint. During the day, a divine service is conducted, followed by a procession around the village.

Families who are celebrating one of their members who have the celebrated name distribute homemade bread and wine.
Then, after the church’s service, people go to the houses of everyone who has his name day and give their greetings and best wishes.

Guests are offered traditional sweets and alcohol.

When the night comes, a festive meal is organized, followed by songs and dances, not ending until down.

Feast days of Andros’ monasteries and the church Theoskepastou, in Hora, are celebrated by the entire village.

Easter festivities are also worth to see if someone has the chance tobe in Andros during this time of the year.

During any religious or national celebration, visitors can admire the beautiful traditional costumes of Andros wear by the young girls and boys of the village, as well as the traditional dances.
