MIKROS MOURTIAS beach in ALONISSOS
Mikros Mourtias is a relatively small but nice beach with peebles and a patch of sand in the sea. It has beautiful green-blue waters and is located in a cove full of green trees. It is encircled from precipices, creating a breathtaking scenery. On the back there are olive trees creating enough shade.
Contrary to the busy ‘Megalos Mourtias’ (see separate listing), Mikros Mourtias is a quiet beach. In order to visit it you should you go up in the Old Village and afterwards following the signs you will go down and find the beach. There is also the possibility of going to the beach using the footpath network of island.
On its right end there is an old abandoned building that was used by people living in the Old Village, when they wanted to visit Skopelos. It was easier for them, than getting to Patitiri and then rowing to neighbouring Skopelos.
Being so quiet and relatively isolated, the beach is sometimes preffered by nudists.
