STENI VALA port and beach in ALONISOS
Stenivala is a picturesque little fishing harbour, a popular destination for yachters, located 10 km from Patitiri (main port), at the southeastern coast of Alonissos. It has a small dock suitable mainly for small and medium sized boats. Its beach is very small and not so attractive for swimming, since there are two nice beaches near by. We rate it with 3 stars as a yachting destination mainly and not for its beach. The village is quite old, older than Patitiri, but has kept its traditional character, with not many rooms to let, tavernas or cafeterias. However all of them are very nice. Like Kalamakia (see separate listing), Stenivala is famous for fresh fish in the tavernas, all owned by fishermen.
There is a twice-daily bus from Patitiri, or you can go by taxi, hired car or bike. The hospital unit for monk seals is in Stenivala and if you are lucky you might see one there.
For the near by beaches of Glyfa and Agios Petros - which are within walking distance of 5-10' using the footpaths - you may see our separate listings.
There is also a market there so you can buy ice or any other things you might need especially if you get there by boat.
